As Chad tells the world that its presidential election will be held tomorrow, May 6th, 2024—I tell the people of the world that what is going to happen in Chad tomorrow is presidential film not election.
Whilst General Mahamat Idris Kaka Deby Itno seized power in 2021 after his father, Dictator-President Idris Deby Itno who ruled Chadians for more than 30 years was killed—he promised an 18-month transition to elections but Mahamat’s government selfishly postponed the presidential election until 2024!
When the main opposition leader in Chad, Yaya Dillo Djerou was brutally killed on February 28th, 2024, I expected General Mahamat Kaka Deby to declare his intention to run for presidency because the guy (Yaya Dillo) who was dearly loved by his people had gone. You know what? General Mahamat Kaka Deby didn’t disappoint me, he announced his intention to contest the presidential election 3 days after Yaya Dillo’s death.
3 weeks after General Kaka Deby had declared his intention, the country’s main opposition leaders, Nassour Koursami and Rakhis Ahmat were barred from contesting the presidential election by the Chad’s Constitutional Council.
Now, General Mahamat Kaka Deby’s main challenger in tomorrow’s presidential film, is his current Prime Minister, Succés Masra. Please, why won’t I dub Chad’s presidential election, Chad’s presidential film? This is a recorded event (where Dictator Kaka Deby will emerge winner) that is going to be shown on television tomorrow.
To the people of Chad, tell Dictator Mahamat Kaka Deby that if he doesn’t allow Koursami and Ahmat to content, election will not be held tomorrow.
